Conveniently located on Old York Road in Melrose Park, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church is a dedicated group of about 250 families, singles, kids, and seasoned citizens who are committed to studying and living the word of Jesus Christ every day of our lives.
We do this personally by worshiping together as a community of believers, as well as individually and in groups by reaching out and serving the diverse Montgomery and Philadelphia communities of which we are a part.
At the heart of our ministries is our belief that we live our faith every moment of our lives, not just when we attend church. So, we attempt to give our members and visitors the spiritual resources to help us carry the love of Jesus Christ into our rough and tumble words ... to help us deal with of life's difficulties ... and to provide meaningful ways for us to connect to and serve others.
St. John's welcomes all visitors to our house. We welcome you for one visit or many. There are so many ways you see how St. John's will help you put the love of Christ to work in your life.
If you just want to attend a worship service or two, come and be our guest. If you find an activity or event on this website that tugs at your heart -- like the Homeless Project or Food Cupboard, Children's Music Program or Adult Forum, Adult Choir, Intergenerational Dance or Bell Choir -- we welcome you to join in.
You may attend Sunday Worship ... or you may call Pastor Hougen and explore other opportunities that suit your spiritual interests. You may get involved on any level you wish!
